Dear Joe,
Just for fun I checked back thru my records to see how many times I had you as a patient and the numbers were quite amazing. Below is a partial list of those visits and I will send you an updated list when I have more time to review your records. I want to let you know how much I appreciate all of the business you've brought me over the years. Thanks to you I have put my 4 kids thru school and have just installed a new pool at my Beverly Hills home. Between you and Jim Rockford my wife and I will be able to take that around the world cruise we've always dreamed about!

Sincerly,
Samuel Morgan, M.D.

 Life Imitates Art
In various interviews Mike Connors has discussed the physical demands of filming Mannix and the cost of doing many of his own stunts.  "On the pilot film I dislocated my shoulder and broke my left wrist.  Through the pilot I had a soft cast on my wrist and when we'd shoot they would take the cast off and in between shots they'd put it back on my wrist.  On another show I fractured some ribs."   Other real life injuries included several cuts, bruises and stitches, his back getting peppered with blanks, and actually being knocked down when a young actor got a little too close with a gun butt.  It's a good thing Mike was as resilient as Joe Mannix or it could have been a very short lived series.
